Wide receiver was supposed to be the deepest position for fantasy managers, but this season has been plagued by injuries, with Laci Rice (knee) and Christian Watson (ankle) injured in Week 4. If four teams get byes, receiver depth will be tested.
In addition to the receivers listed on the injury report, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins, Ladd McConkie and Quentin are also out. – Johnston is also absent. Thankfully, some receivers have stepped forward to fill the void.
Xavier Worthy and Dontaevion Wicks have benefited from injuries to Rice and Watson, and both should be considered No. 3 fantasy receivers in most leagues. Wan’Dale Robinson has crept into mandatory starting territory in PPR, and with injuries to Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle), Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell are worthy of being used as sleepers in PPR.
There will also be interest in Michael Pittman and Josh Downs this week if Joe Flacco starts in place of the injured Anthony Richardson (hip). The Colts will have a great matchup against the Jaguars, who rank fifth in most fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, but will fully trust only Pittman and Downs if Flacco starts. Otherwise, Pittman and Downs are just No. 3 receivers in most leagues.
