Famous Mexican singer and songwriter Pakita La del Barrio has passed away. She was 77 years old.
Pakita, whose real name is Francis Ca Viberos Varada, was known for her outgoing personality and bold lyrics.

The news was confirmed by a statement posted on her official Instagram account. She passed away at her home in Veracruz, Mexico.
“In severe pain and sadness, we at her home in Veracruz, a unique and inexplicable artist who will leave unforgettable memories in our hearts, We confirm the death of their beloved “Pachita la del Barrio.” I enjoyed her and her music,” the statement read.
It is unknown how she died.
Many of her songs had a message of female empowerment, which inspired misogyny. She broke barriers in the music industry as a woman in a field often dominated by men.
Her most famous hits include “Rata de Doe Patas” and “Azul Celeste.”
