Philadelphia Eagles defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson gave Washington Commanders fans one last parting gift Sunday at Northwest Stadium: two middle fingers.
Gardner-Johnson received a second sportsmanship penalty in the second half and was ejected from the game. He appeared to get into a scuffle with command wide receiver Diyami Brown, who got shoved in his helmet. Still, Gardner-Johnson was penalized.

He reacted to X’s incident.
“With all due respect, I was kicked out for no reason, but I play with passion and passion!! As you would expect, the guys were squealing all day!!” he wrote.
Heading into the game against the Commanders this season, the Eagles had a safety with three interceptions, one forced fumble and 57 total tackles.
He added one more interception to his interception total against Washington.

Losing Gardner-Johnson may have been as bad for the Eagles’ defense as losing Jalen Hurts was for the offense. Philadelphia led by 10 points when Gardner-Johnson was ejected and added three more points when they recovered the ball after a fumble.
Jayden Daniels threw 3 of 5 touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. The Commanders scored 22 points in the final frame, outscoring the Eagles 36-33.

“We didn’t put in a good enough effort,” Eagles running back Saquon Barkley said. “We left a lot of plays, including mine.”
