Cynthia Eribo,recently Oscar nomination The actress who appeared in “Wicked” will host Broadway’s biggest night at the 2025 Tony Awards in June.
The awards show is scheduled to take place on June 8th at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Nominations for the 78th Annual Tony Awards have not been announced yet.
Eribo, 38, is no stranger to the Tony Awards. In 2016, she won the best actress in a musical for her breakout role in “The Color Purple.” The “Evil” Star is one of the few talents nominated for Tony, Emmy, Grammy and Oscars. She won all of them except for Oscar. Oscar has been nominated this year for his role as Elphaba.
“I am extremely proud and thrilled to accept this glorious honor,” Eribo said in a statement. “We look forward to escorting the entire theatre community throughout the evenings we celebrate the incredible performances we witnessed all year round, and I hope that we will stand up for the occasion.”
2025 Tony Award nominations have been announced
This year’s Tony Award nominations are scheduled to be announced on May 1st.
Some of the nominated exhibits are “Death Becomes Her”, “Romeo + Juliet”, “Tamy Faye”, Maybe a Happy Ending”, “Gypsy”, “Sunset Boulevard”, and “Our Town”.
Where to see the Tony Awards
The June 8th ceremony will air both CBS TV Station and Paramount+ with showtime. According to Paramount, subscribers will have live access via live feeds and on-demand for local CBS affiliates on the service.
The Tony Awards have been airing on CBS since 1978.
Paramount+ Essential subscribers don’t have the option to stream live, but on-demand video will be available on June 9th.
