Duke is the new No. 1 team in the updated coach poll released Monday following their wins at Wake Forest and North Carolina. The Blue Devils jumped over Auburn in the polls, losing to Texas A&M and Alabama last week to 2-0, falling to No. 3 after second-placed Houston.
Duke last came in first place in the 2021-22 season.
The Blue Devils won the ACC regular season title perfectly after a 82-69 victory at North Carolina. Duke finished his league play on the 19-1 mark and finished the regular season with an eight-game winning streak after losing to Clemson last month.
Despite Auburn dropping from the No. 1 ranking, Tigers is expected to be the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament due to their overall resume. Duke defeated Auburn 84-78 in the ACC/SEC Challenge earlier this season.
