The Civil Rights Office within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced four medical school investigations into alleged anti-Semitism incidents during the 2024 launch ceremony.
Although the HHS did not identify schools exposed to these investigations, the Wall Street Journal reported that medical schools in Harvard, Columbia, Brown and Johns Hopkins were targeted. The investigation comes after a grade plagued by what critics described as an anti-Semitic incident after the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
“After October 7th, we saw an outbreak not only on university campuses and city streets, but also on medical professionals. This is what makes anti-Semitic biases in medicine the lives of Jewish patients. In addition to facing potential consequences of schools failing to address anti-Semitism on campus, Trump is not complying with new orders that curb diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. In cases, they are threatening to withhold millions of federal dollars in research grants.
