Capital One is working to resolve technical issues after thousands of customers reported issues with direct deposit on Thursday.
As of Thursday morning, more than 2,000 people had reported problems with Capital One’s banking operations, according to Down Detector, an online service that tracks technology outages. The issue subsided somewhat by late afternoon, with just over 1,700 outage reports reported by Capital One users as of 4:10 p.m. ET.
“Some people have bills to pay and groceries to buy. At least we’re up to date,” one official wrote in a social media post to X’s Capital One customer service account. Please let us know.”
“What’s going on with the business checking account? Customer service said everything would be fine in about two hours, but it would take three hours,” another official said Wednesday night.
Capital One apologized for the issue and told customers in a social media post that the bank is “actively working with our vendor to resolve the issue and restore service.”
