Despite being a professional athlete, Caitlin Clark prioritized being a Taylor Swift fan over her own blood.
Clark said she attended three concerts on Swift’s Ellas tour, including two nights in a row when Swift was in Indianapolis earlier this month. Clark said fans there threw so many friendship bracelets at her that when she put them all on, her blood supply stopped.
“There was so much up to my arm that I had to take it off. It was cutting off my circulation,” Clark said at the Women’s Leadership Summit on Tuesday. “Everyone was throwing bracelets at me.”

Blocked blood circulation to the limbs can cause numbness and tissue damage if blood circulation is blocked long enough.
Clark collected bracelets from fans in the stands in Indianapolis at Swift’s Nov. 1 concert.
The starting price for tickets for the Nov. 1 concert was about $2,000, excluding fees from various sellers. But the starting price plummeted in the days leading up to the concert, to just $1,271 before fees on Vivid Seat by Friday morning.
Clark’s 2024 WNBA salary was $76,535. However, it is estimated that she earned more from other sources.
Clark was recently photographed next to Swift on the cover of Time magazine’s recent “Inspiring Women” special issue, which featured eight women in leadership positions, including multiple athletes. Clark and Swift were the only two athletes in the top spot, with Clark ahead of veteran sports icons Serena Williams and Megan Rapinoe as the highest-ranked athlete.
Jason Kelce reveals his biggest regret about the Penn State fan incident
Clark’s past social media posts while in college also helped bring the two fans together.
“Taylor Swift, welcome to the good side,” Clark wrote on a Sept. 24, 2023, post by X, adding the hashtag “Chiefs Kingdom.”
Clark has said many times that he is a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. She posted it shortly after Swift went public with her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce in September 2023.
On Sunday, when the Chiefs blocked a field goal and defeated the Denver Broncos to remain undefeated, Clark posted on X to celebrate his favorite team’s victory.

“(The concert) was fun. I met Caitlin Clark there. You have to meet Caitlin. She’s awesome. She loves being in Indianapolis and says it’s a fun city. And I… We’re both true Midwesterners through and through. We both played in high school.” Baseball, college ball, and pro ball are all happening here in the Midwest, so it was cool to catch up with her. ” Kelsey said.
“(Clark) was definitely into the show. She was there with her mom and a few friends…I think this was her third or fourth show as well. She’s a die-hard It’s Swiftie, man.”
Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, attended college at the University of Cincinnati, and spent his entire 12-year NFL career with the Midwest Chiefs.
Clark’s hometown is West Des Moines, Iowa, and she helped bring attention to women’s college basketball at the University of Iowa. She currently plays for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA.
