At least seven people were killed Thursday when a bus carrying several wedding guests crashed into a ravine in southeastern Pakistan while speeding down a road, rescuers and authorities said.
The accident occurred near Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. Authorities did not immediately reveal the cause of the accident, but the investigation was ongoing.
Health Ministry spokesperson Wasim Baig said the bodies of the victim and 17 others injured in the accident were taken to a local hospital, the Associated Press reported.

Some of the injured are reportedly in critical condition.
Roadway crashes are common in Pakistan, where highways are poorly maintained and traffic laws are largely ignored.

In August, three bus accidents took place, claiming a total of 60 Pakistani lives.
Two of the bus accidents occurred in Pakistan, one in Balochistan province and the other in eastern Punjab province. According to the Associated Press, 32 people died between the two crashes.
Officials say both accidents were caused by driver negligence.

The third crash occurred in Iran, killing 28 Pakistani pilgrims heading to Iraq.
