The British government has introduced new requirements for travellers wanting to visit the country.
The country has introduced an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system that digitizes tourist applications to visit the country, subject to a fee of about $13.
“Everyone wanting to travel to the UK, except British and Irish nationals, must obtain travel permission before coming here,” the UK government website states.
Travelers who exceed baggage limits on trains could face new penalties
ETA is linked to travellers’ passports to facilitate security checks and “prevent abuse” of the immigration system.

The ETA applies to anyone staying in the country for up to six months for purposes such as tourism, visiting family and friends, business or short-term study.
“The global expansion of ETA demonstrates our commitment to strengthening security through new technologies and embedding a modern immigration system,” Immigration and Citizenship Minister Seema Malhotra said in a press release.

“It will facilitate smoother journeys for millions of people who pass through the border every year, including the visitors we warmly welcome to the UK, who are predicted to contribute more than £32 billion to the UK tourism economy this year,” Malhotra added.
