According to the website tracker down detector, Zoom, a popular video communications service, was down for tens of thousands of users on Wednesday.
Around 3pm on Wednesday, approximately 68,000 users reported the issue using video conferencing tools. According to DownDetector, most Zoom customers have reported issues using web applications, but many say they cannot use the mobile app properly.
Around 5pm on EST, Zoom posted on social media that the service had been restored.
“Service has been restored after a previous outage. We are truly grateful for your patience and understanding,” the company wrote.
User complaints showed that the outage appeared to be spreading throughout the US.
Zoom issues follow a technical stop early in the day. Thousands Spotify users On Wednesday, I reported that I had problems accessing my music streaming account.
Zoom did not immediately respond to CBS Moneywatch’s request for comment.
According to the company, around 300 million users attend Zoom meetings every day. It has grown in popularity during the pandemic, when in-person meetings were cancelled. It earned revenue during the pandemic, but its growth slowed.
