An unruly air traveler was detained on an American Airlines flight from Milwaukee to Texas after allegedly injuring a flight attendant and causing a disturbance.
On Tuesday, the man attacked a flight attendant and tried to exit the plane through the cabin door, before fellow passengers helped restrain him with tape, FOX 4 KDFW reported.
According to a Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport incident report obtained by KDFW and shared with FOX News Digital, the man approached the flight attendant and told him he was the “captain” and needed to “get off the plane.” .

Doug McCreight of McKinney, Texas, one of the three people who helped restrain the passenger, told KDFW that the altercation occurred near the front row of the plane where the passenger was sitting.
“I could tell the conversation wasn’t going very well,” he said.
McCright took his seat after hearing flight attendants repeatedly instructing passengers to return to their seats.
“I said, ‘Sir, she wants you to go back to your seat. You need to go back to your seat…He turned around and said, ‘I’m getting off this flight!’ I want to get off this flight,’” McCreight said. , according to KDFW.

The man then attempted to gain access to the cabin door by jumping on top of the flight attendant, but McCreight grabbed him and held him back.
The flight attendant told authorities she sustained injuries to her left wrist and neck and was later taken to a hospital for treatment.
Passenger Charlie Boris and another traveler held the man down for the remaining 30 minutes of the flight by taping his hands and feet.
“It was a fight or flight situation,” Boris told FOX 4 KDFW.

Boris added: “Everyone was really helpful and worked together so we could all go to Thanksgiving together.”
Around 10 a.m., shortly after the plane landed, the FBI and airport police boarded the plane and found one of the passengers still kneeling over the man.
The disruptive passenger was removed from the plane in a wheelchair and submitted to a psychiatric evaluation, KDFW reported.
