Children’s show comes back
Last night’s third season, “The White Lotus” became one of 2025’s most talked about television shows. Although the range of experiences for the actors in the HBO series varies, all cast members share commonalities.
In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the name behind the show explains why the veteran actors and newcomers are paid exactly the same amount throughout the season.
“Everyone is treated the same way with White Lotus. They’re paid in the same way and we’re charging an alphabet, so you’re getting people who want to do the project for the right reasons rather than quoting a ‘bate degree’,” producer David Bernad told the outlet. “We didn’t have the money to make a show, so this is the system we developed in our first season.”

According to THR, the first season was made for less than $4 million on episodes, but Season 3 is said to cost between $6 million and $7 million per episode.
“It’ll be very easy,” casting director Meredith Tucker said of the decision to pay all the actors the same thing. “You tell people what this is, and some people don’t do that. And honestly, you can’t hold it against people who need to make a living.
“And that can’t be negotiated,” Barnad added.

In the season three finale, show creator Mike White said the network is under pressure for the next season.
“There’s already been pressure from HBO (for season 4). When they have bullish things, they want to put it out there. We were supposed to start scouting in April.

And despite his payroll Tidbit, Tucker said he has already received calls from agents regarding casting for the upcoming season.
“Last week, an agent reached out to me, ‘That’s an emergency.’ I called him and said, “I know the answer is no, but someone said he’s auditioning for season 4. He’s not writing one thing.
