The long-awaited luxury hotel that closed in 2007 is finally reopening in the heart of Palm Beach, Florida.
L+R Iconic Luxury Hotels purchased the property in 2019, in a prime location just steps from the coastline. The company spent three years working to restore the property to its former glory.

General Manager Chris Jaycock told Fox News Digital in an email that the building, which was built in 1961, was always intended to be a luxury hotel, but plans have failed several times.

“The L+R team restored the derelict building and worked with all stakeholders to make that dream a reality. Now, it has been completely transformed and a new addition to this great Palm Beach landmark. A chapter was born,” Jaycock said.

The property was purchased to give guests the feel of a classic restored home, creating a place of “relaxed exclusivity and thoughtfulness.”

Key architectural features such as the distinctive coral façade, carved cypress arbor, and limestone arches have been preserved to maintain the building’s timeless character.
“The new design deftly integrates these historic elements while reimagining vintage Palm Beach’s iconic pink and green hues to create a hotel that is fresh, bright, bold and inviting.” Jaycock said.

In March, a waterfront home owned by interior designer Victoria Hagan and businessman Michael Berman sold for $60 million in Palm Beach, Fox News Digital reported.
From January to June, the region welcomed 5.19 million tourists, a record high compared to the same period last year, according to Discover the Palm Beaches, a West Palm Beach-based travel planning company.

Francisco Macedo, executive vice president of Iconic Luxury Hotels, told Fox News Digital in an email that Florida was a natural choice for the UK-based company’s expansion.

“Palm Beach, famous for its prestige and wealthy visitors, allows us to introduce this spirit to the U.S. market. With strong demand for Florida during the winter months, Palm Beach is an ideal location” Macedo he said.
Macedo said more than 1 million visitors from the United Kingdom will visit Florida in 2022, making the United Kingdom the second-largest country for foreign tourists to the state.
