Projectiles fired from Yemen into Israel overnight struck Tel Aviv, injuring 14 people, Israeli officials said.
After sirens sounded in central Israel, the Israeli military announced that the interception had failed and the projectile had landed in the Jaffa area south of Tel Aviv.
“Shortly ago, after sirens were sounded in central Israel, a projectile fired from Yemen was confirmed and an attempt was made to intercept it, but it was unsuccessful,” the military said in a statement on Telegram.

Iran-backed Houthi rebels have launched repeated missile attacks against Israel from Yemen since the start of the Gaza war in October last year, but this overnight incident was one that Israel failed to intercept. This was a rare example.

“Shortly ago, we received a report that a weapon had fallen in one of the settlements in the Tel Aviv area,” Israeli police said in a statement on Saturday.
The Israeli military said Thursday that it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen, and its debris caused extensive damage to a school near Tel Aviv.
